Professor Joseph Palermo might have thought it would be fun to appear on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” and discuss climate change on Wednesday, but it didn’t turn out so well for him.
Palermo, who specializes in 20th century politics at California State University, appeared on the show to defend a piece he wrote for The Huffington Post in which he suggested that President-elect Donald Trump shouldn’t be allowed to use social media because he didn’t accept climate change theories.
During their discussion, Palermo made the mistake of mentioning a quote that he simply couldn’t back up, and Carlson wasn’t going to let him get away with it. Palermo said that 98 percent of scientists in the world believe the science behind climate change — a claim that Carlson questioned and a claim that the professor couldn’t back up.
So Palermo did what most liberals do when they cannot substantiate a claim they just made: He changed the subject and tried to move on to another point.
However, Carlson wasn’t about to let him get away with it.
“You’re practicing a species of religion where anybody who doesn’t believe what you believe is a heretic and should be penalized,” Carlson told Palermo. Palermo continued to dodge the issue, and Tucker finally told the professor he was a member of a religious sect that couldn’t accept honest questions.
He nailed it.
Watch the exchange below.
It’s fun to watch Carlson tear up liberals with no case.
It’s a shame that the left must spread misinformation and manipulate data to keep this cause alive, but it’s an even bigger shame that people like Palermo would rather believe what they are told than take the time to look at the facts.
