If you’re a defender of Israel or a believer in a strong American policy in the Middle East, you probably weren’t a fan of the United Nations before their Israel-stabbing resolution last week.
However, after what the global body did to the Jewish state — condemning it for settlement activity on Israeli-occupied land — they definitely weren’t going to be getting any Christmas gifts from the conservative set. (Or Hanukkah gelt, as the case may be.)
Mike Huckabee, former governor of Arkansas and one-time presidential candidate, said he has a good idea of what to do with the United Nations — and, in particular, their building on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
“I think we ought to get jackhammers and we ought to jackhammer the whole thing off, float it into the East River,” Huckabee said during a Tuesday appearance on “Fox & Friends.” “Ask anybody who would like to host it, to come pick it up, haul it off. And it’ll be a lot easier to park in Manhattan after we get rid of it.”
According to The Hill, Huckabee — once in the running for Trump’s ambassador to Israel — also called the resolution a “suicide pact.”
“They’re trying to push Israel into accepting borders that would essentially be a suicide pact if Israel were ever to agree to it,” he said.

Liberals and Israel-haters, predictably, are going to savage Huckabee over this one. As a former resident of Gotham, though, I could tell you that the United Nations headquarters wouldn’t be a big loss. In fact, under Huckabee’s plan, it would be almost like seeing off a cruise ship!
Heck, put a Carnival smokestack on it, make some piña coladas for the minor functionaries of global diplomacy, and see them off to wherever is taking them next. France, probably. They seem like the type.
So, what say you, President-elect Trump? It could be part of your infrastructure plan. And, after all, it’s a shovel-ready — or rather, jackhammer-ready — job.
